INN Labs gains new leadership, account manager

LOS ANGELES — May 11, 2018 — The nonprofit news technology team at INN Labs is gaining new leadership with the appointment of Kay Lima as acting director and Paula Baradello to a new position as account manager.

Lima is an experienced news technology operations manager with more than seven years of experience managing cross-functional teams including developers, designers, creative strategists, project managers, account managers, marketers, and executive-level stakeholders. She has run product and business development for a startup and worked as a consultant in digital marketing, analytics and audience engagement.

She replaces Julia Smith, who has moved to INN member site Mother Jones.

Barodello brings INN and its members a wealth of experience as an account manager helping technology customers meet their product and service needs. She most recently served as account manager for marketing automation firm Verticur and has also worked with the nonprofit MATT.org. and media company RCR. She is based in Austin, Texas.

INN Labs provides custom technology solutions for journalism organizations including National Public Media, Poynter, the Trust Project and dozens of independent public service news organizations. It also developed Largo, an open-source WordPress theme that currently enables more than 200 media organizations to reach their digital audiences.

Lima joined INN in January 2017 as Community and Support Lead for the INN Labs technology team. She previously worked for SilverBetty Inc. in New York and and Gravity Switch in Massachusetts. In addition to her product, marketing and technology work, Lima has extensive experience working with and serving on the board of nonprofit organizations. She graduated from Salem State University and studied full-stack development with Coding Dojo. Lima is based in Denver, Colo.
