Four New Members Join INN

Encino, Calif., July 10, 2015 — Four nonprofit journalism organizations have joined the Institute for Nonprofit News (INN), bringing with them unique missions and experience.

The additional members signal growth in the organization of more than 100 nonprofit news organizations that produce a diverse range of journalism from local, state and regional news to single-subject enterprise reporting. INN now has members in 37 states.

The new members include:

  • Signcasts: Headed by Brein Mcnamara, Signcasts helps to inform, empower and educate the deaf community. It is based in Minnesota.
  • Philipstown.info, Inc.: Provides fair, objective, high-quality news to New York’s Hudson Valley population.
  • Bridge Magazine: Informs Michigan residents about their state, amplifies their views and explores the challenges of civic life.
  • Environmental Media Lab: Uses new storytelling technologies to bring to life smart science, cutting-edge green design, and transformative solutions to the big environmental problems of our time. The lab produces Conservation magazine and is based at the University of Washington.
