The Investigative News Network is pleased to welcome the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) and the Voice of OC to its growing consortium of 78 nonprofit news organizations.
BAVC is based in San Francisco, CA, with the stated mission to inspire "social change by empowering media makers to develop and share diverse stories through art, education and technology."
Voice of OC, based in Orange County, CA, is focused on accountability in government, not the process of government. The Voice of OC's stories are driven not by meetings or events, but by the deep understanding its reporters and editors have of the issues that local governments face.
INN was founded in 2009 to help the increasing number of nonprofit newsrooms pool resources, promote editorial collaborations and get wider distribution of their work. INN is composed of organizations that produce nonpartisan investigative and public service journalism of regional, national and international scope. INN members produce original, multimedia longform and ongoing stories and analyses of public data to better inform the communities they serve.
