This advanced social media marketing webinar for independent and nonprofit newsrooms is aimed at organizations that already have a sophisticated understanding of social marketing and want to go deep on using social platforms to build an effective email funnel.

The advanced webinar is the third in a series of three social media marketing training sessions; basic and intermediate webinars will be offered in subsequent weeks.

Each 90-minute webinar will break down strategies step-by-step to allow participants to understand and implement them to get results quickly. A Q+A session will be held at the end of each webinar.

Below are some of the key takeaways that will be covered in the basic webinar:

1. How to build an email marketing funnel on Facebook to drive donations, subscribers, members and more.

2. Why use Instagram and Facebook together: a case study.

Webinar participants will be charged a fee of $25 upon registration that will be refunded at the conclusion of the webinar, as long as the participant attends the webinar as scheduled. Failure to attend the webinar will result in forfeiture of the fee.

Before the webinar, participants should ensure they:

1. Have a credit card available or already on file with their Facebook ads account.

2. A profile(s) of your most engaged readers.

3. A CSV file of your email list.

Upon conclusion of the webinar, all participants will receive a copy of the slides presented during the webinar and a strategy sheat sheet to assist with implementation of methods presented.

The webinars will be hosted by Toya Wilson-Smith. She is the co-founder of NexGeneration Digital Marketing Agency and developed the Simply Social Marketing Academy, a social media marketing educational company to assist local business owners to leverage the internet to increase their brand awareness. Toya has a background in corporate sales and a M.B.A. in marketing.

The webinars are being coordinated by the Center for Cooperative Media at Montclair State University, as part of a Knight Foundation-funded program designed to help INN and LION news organizations better leverage social media platforms. These webinars will be especially important for those organizations planning to take part in future NewsMatch campaigns.
