Midwest Energy News Joins Investigative News Network

Encino, California — Midwest Energy News is the latest member nonprofit news organization to join the Investigative News Network.

Midwest Energy News launched in 2010 and is a nonprofit news site dedicated to keeping stakeholders, policymakers, and citizens informed of the important changes taking place as the Midwest shifts from fossil fuels to a clean energy system.

“We are delighted to add Midwest Energy News to our roster of nonprofit news organizations that produce investigative and public interest journalism,” says Kevin Davis, CEO & Executive Director of the Investigative News Network. “By focusing on a topic that is relevant to many communities across a wide region, they are demonstrating that today’s news audiences are just as likely to be defined by a shared interest or concern, as they are a particular city or market.”

Midwest Energy News is published by RE-AMP, a network of more than 145 nonprofits throughout the region, and is based at Fresh Energy, a non-partisan, nonprofit organization that advocates for clean energy policy.

“We’re very excited at Midwest Energy News for the opportunity to expand our technical abilities and network with other news organizations,” said Editor Ken Paulman.

The Investigative News Network helps nonprofit news organizations produce and distribute stories with impact, achieve cost efficiencies by pooling resources and develop new revenue streams to become sustainable businesses.
