More Than 100 News Publishers Now Use Largo Project

Largo__color_stacked1More than 100 independent news publishers are now using Largo Project, the WordPress framework developed by the Investigative News Network.

Of those 100 sites, roughly 30 are INN member sites and projects including Wisconsin Watch, Connecticut Mirror, Aspen Journalism and others. A full list of sites using Largo can be found on the project website, LargoProject.org.

Largo, which traces its history back to NPR’s Project Argo, was adopted by INN two years ago and has since grown to include a robust set of features tailored to the needs of a variety of news publishers.

“We acknowledge that not all news organizations have exactly the same needs,” said INN senior director of product and technology, Adam Schweigert, “so we built Largo to be flexible enough to allow for easy configuration and customization while still trying to cover the needs that most publishers have in common.”

The project is open source and free for any publisher to use. For INN members, we also offer free hosting, help with configuration and ongoing support.

You can download Largo from our Github repository where you can also contribute code or your new feature ideas.
