In this live webinar, Sally Lehrman will introduce you to The Trust Project, a consortium of top news organizations working to develop transparency standards for news. You will learn the steps you can take to signal your organization's transparency and take advantage of new technical developments for better search engine performance and improved audience trust.
About The Trust Project:
The Trust Project is a nonpartisan initiative to develop transparency standards – Trust Indicators – that help the public easily assess the quality and credibility of journalism.
These indicators were created by leaders from more than 75 news organizations and are based on interviews with real people who told us what they value in news and when they trust it. Each indicator is can be signaled through your website, providing the first standardized technical language for platforms to learn more from news sites about the quality and expertise behind journalists’ work. Google, Facebook, Bing and Twitter have all agreed to use the indicators and are investigating and piloting ideas about how to best to use them to surface and display quality journalism.
The Trust Project is hosted by Santa Clara University’s Markkula Center for Applied Ethics in Silicon Valley.
