Investigative News Network secures grant from Rockefeller Brothers Fund

The Investigative News Network (INN) is proud to announce that it has received a $140,000 grant over two years from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

The general support grant will support INN's efforts to create efficiencies and economies of scale for the many of its smaller, regionally focused nonprofit news organizations.  The grant also will encourage collaboration amongst its more than 50 member organizations and help broaden the reach of the Network's content across multiple digital platforms and new and dynamic distribution methods.

"We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund," said Kevin Davis, CEO & Executive Director of INN.  "The Rockefeller Brothers Fund was instrumental in facilitating the initial meeting from which the Network was born.  This grant now provides us with the necessary resources to continue to move our mission forward."

The fund gave an initial grant that helped fund the "Building an Investigative News Network" conference held at the Pocantico Estate in Tarrytown, NY in the summer of 2009.  Founded in 1940, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund advances social change that contributes to a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world.

INN is a consortium of nonprofit news organizations producing nonpartisan investigative and public service journalism in North America.  INN is dedicated to helping its member organizations produce and distribute stories with the highest impact possible, and to become sustainable entities.
